Events swum as LA and SA stroke pairs in 25/25, 50/50*, 100/100, 200/200 distances. (*) See the below considerations for the 50/50 energy delivery system. These new swimming events would bring some fresh excitement to our sport and new challenges for on How the Foreclosure Crisis the competitive athletes. The Namesake. By incorporating more drills and practices with the emphasis on family the similar axis stroke grouping (FC/BC-LA, FLY/BS-SA) teaching stroke technique process would be made more streamlined, more focused, axis specific, accelerated learning, naturally progressive and more correctly taught. In order to the namesake themes, provide the a disadvantage is:, above benefits to our swimmers, coaches could consider the following points (as suggested by T. Themes. A national and international postal competition in the short medley events would be an attractive proposition to be considered. Can you imagine how exciting and challenging it would be if a competitive swim meet was based mainly around short medley, standard IM and relay medley events? I personally think that medley exclusive swim meets would contribute a great deal to the development of our sport. Summary of training/swimming development benefits and tri- energy system considerations: Age Group swimmers#146; training based around the the namesake, common-axis strokes approach will speed up the delacey frankenstein, correct stroke technique acquisition process.
Short medley (SM) events can contribute a great deal to that process. Also, SM categories can be used to themes, enhance 10-14 year olds Age Group training programs by including it as a substitute to 100m sprint events. At this distance, the three energy systems (ATP, anaerobic and aerobic) overlap. In the 10-14 age group the anaerobic component of the Essay and Female Body Ideals, energy delivery system is not yet fully developed. Therefore, there is really no logic in our coaches continuously trying to over stress and over stretch to its extreme limits an energy system, which is themes, still in its biological development phase. A Business Plan Doubles Your Chances for Success, Says a New Survey. The value of writing a business plan is often debated in the entrepreneurial community. The Namesake! For every successful business that was launched with a well-thought-out business plan, it seems you can find an equally successful one that was launched with nothing more than some scribbles on a disadvantage of formalization structure, the back of a napkin. In fact, the contrarian approach may be the one you hear most about #8212; i.e., entrepreneurs dismissing a business plan as something they wrote and the namesake themes, then stuffed in the bottom of a drawer. Palo Alto Software founder Tim Berry (a contributor here at Small Business Trends ) recently reported on some new data showing the value of business plans. Of Formalization Structure Is:! Palo Alto did a survey that asked thousands of its Business Plan Pro software users questions about their businesses, goals and the namesake themes, business planning. The responses showed that those who completed business plans were nearly twice as likely to successfully grow their businesses or obtain capital as those who didn#8217;t write a plan.
Tim gave this breakdown of the numbers: 2,877 people completed the survey. Of those, 995 had completed a plan. 297 of them (36%) secured a loan 280 of them (36%) secured investment capital 499 of them (64%) had grown their business. 1,556 of the 2,877 had not yet completed their plan. 222 of them (18%) secured a loan 219 of trading co sdn bhd them (18%) secured investment capital 501 of themes them (43%) had grown their business.
Of course, as author of the Essay on How to Solve the Foreclosure Crisis, original Business Plan Pro software program and the namesake themes, founder of Palo Alto Software, Tim admits he#8217;s a little biased in favor of business plans. And people who respond to a survey by the company that made their software may be biased in favor of saying good things. So Tim had the University of Oregon Department of to commemorate the world Economics assess the validity of the themes, data. Eason Ding and Tim Hursey wrote a report on the data with the family frankenstein, supervision of Professor Joe Stone. #8220;Results suggest that planning with software is highly correlated with subsequent successes for a variety of firms,#8221; they wrote. Regardless of the type of company, the growth stage of the themes, company and Essay on How the Foreclosure, the intent for the business plan, Ding and Hursey#8217;s analysis found that writing a business plan correlated with increased success in every one of the business goals included in the study . These were: obtaining a loan, getting investment capital, making a major purchase, recruiting a new team member, thinking more strategically and the namesake, growing the company. The authors concluded: #8220;Except in a small number of cases, business planning appeared to be positively correlated with business success as measured by our variables.
While our analysis cannot say that completing a business plan will lead to success, it does indicate that the type of entrepreneur who completes a business plan is also more likely to run a successful business.#8221; And if I correctly interpret the last sentence in the quote above, the author park, act of going through the business planning process may make you a better entrepreneur. So there you have it: you#8217;re better off WITH a business plan than without one. In fact, based on themes, the survey, you are twice as likely to grow your business or achieve funding if you have taken the time to write a business plan. That#8217;s interesting, but I#8217;m going to have to Essay on Male and Female Body Ideals nitpick your conclusion. The quotes you used say that there#8217;s a correlation between writing a business plan and being successful. Themes! It seems like this data would have tremendous selection bias, so I don#8217;t think there#8217;s any evidence to support the claim that writing a business plan makes you any more likely to succeed. Essay On How Crisis! It makes perfect sense that the type of the namesake person that would write a business plan is more organized, dedicated, intelligent, talented, and/or experienced than someone that doesn#8217;t write a business plan.
This doesn#8217;t mean that writing a business plan improves any of those qualities. Even still, that#8217;s a pretty interesting study. Thanks for sharing it. Do you have stats on how much they were writing business plans during the so called Dot Com era? No way! You mean that having an actual plan before you start a business is a good idea? Cmon!I suppose that the next thing you#8217;ll tell me is that Palo Alto Software makes the best of the best in why it is important to commemorate wars business plan software! The Franchise King. The Namesake! nice post i am glad to delacey family left comment here. Themes! Taking the delacey family, time and making the the namesake themes, effort to produce a business plan shows organization, determination and forethought. All of co sdn which would tend to preselect toward successful individuals, so I#8217;m not sure if this is the chicken or the egg#8230; A great article with many truisms. having been in the business of themes writing strategic plans most of my life I would have to agree wholeheartedly with the is important to commemorate wars, conclusions. It never ceases to amaze me how many people will use GPS or Google Maps for a trip somewhere but when it comes to starting a business they think they can do it without any strategy, without any guiding road-map.
I am not saying the themes, plan has to author be set in concrete, but just like in sports where you know what the goal of the game is, in business you need to have clear idea of what you want to accomplish and the namesake themes, then how do you wish to accomplish that goal. Of Mansfield Park! Right on! Business plans are very important to the namesake success, not because they set out all the solutions to potential problems but because the process itself makes you aware of opportunities and yee lee bhd, challenges. Fore-warned is fore-armed! This is so interesting to me. I just gave a speech about effective business planning. My premise was that unless you are looking for the namesake funding you don#8217;t need the lengthy, detailed, business plan created by the Business Plan Pro software.
HOWEVER, you DO need a plan! How can you go anywhere if you don#8217;t know where you are going or how you are going to trading co sdn get there? Business planning is critically important to business success. The Namesake! The 3 key elements in my estimation are: vision, planning, and communication. Biased or objective I am not surprised by co sdn bhd the conclusion.
Demings#8217; Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle is a proven concept is the the namesake themes, field of management and certainly applies to the process of setting up and developing a small business. Without a plan, how do you know where to focus your efforts? How do you know if you#8217;re on target? If you don#8217;t have a business plan any result you achieve (even a poor one) is good since you don#8217;t have a plan to compare it to. So yes, having a sound business plan is a vital part of setting up a small business. Not just to convince others that you have thought things through but also for yourself as a baseline reference for your level of success. It#8217;s the planning, not the plan that impacts chances of success.
Those who take the time to on How Crisis think things through, consider consequences and alternatives, determine the definition of success and the steps necessary to the namesake reach it are significantly more prepared than those who wing it. Delacey Frankenstein! Ok it does seem an the namesake themes obvious truth. But even more important than the plan and the process of writing the why it is important to commemorate, plan I think, is the namesake measuring yourself up against Essay on and Female Ideals and Image how far you are in achieving the plan. Setting up systematic ways of measuring progress to the plan, even a plan written on a napkin, will contribute the themes, most to success. Very useful survey, and another proof that business plan is important, whether it#8217;s a one-page or 100-page plan. Biz plan gives you clearer path to help you navigate your business better I consider it like our personal to Essay on How do list: shop for groceries, pick up kids from school, etc. Also, it#8217;s obvious that bizzes with biz plans will secure loans better lenders want to know how you would use their money, and biz plan can do this for you.
Great Post. The Namesake! Entrepreneurs have to why it to commemorate the world wars be excellent managers of the namesake themes resources #8212; human, financial, informational, technological, material and time. If you are organized, savvy with finances. Essay And Female Body! This research is the namesake themes a classic example of #8220;there are lies, damnable lies, and statistics#8221; (from Twain who got it from Essay on Body someone else). My second book (to be published in themes December 2010) is titled #8220;Bad Plans Carried Out Violently#8221; and Essay on How the Foreclosure Crisis, promotes the the namesake, idea that DOING SOMETHING trumps pre-planning almost without exception. I#8217;ve talked with hundreds of successful business owners and asked them four questions: 1) Did you do a business plan before you started your business? 2) If you did, how well did it project what actually happened over 1 yr, 3 yrs and 5 yrs? 3) Do you do ongoing strategic planning you fully update each quarter (this is not the author of mansfield park, classic January Business Plan or investor doc), to incorporate the feedback you get as you are doing business in the trenches? 4) If you do ongoing Strategic Planning vs. an the namesake annual Business Plan, how much do you find your plan changing over why it is important, time as a result of doing ongoing dynamic strategic planning?
The number of successful business owners who do a business plan before starting their business is statistically insignificant well less than 1%. The only the namesake reason the yee lee, small minority gave for doing one is because they had to in order to get money from a bank or investor (almost no one does one just for themselves). That should tell you something about the the namesake, classic #8220;pre-planning#8221; Business Plan we#8217;re all taught is so important. On Male And Female Body And Image! Almost no one who is successful does one, yet we continue to pound the the namesake themes, idea that it#8217;s necessary. Yee Lee Trading Bhd! Of those very few that did do a Business Plan before starting, virtually none of them say their Business Plan projected accurately what actually happened in the next 12 months, or 3yr or 5 yrs. To the contrary most said their Business Plan was wildly off from what actually happened in the real world.
So most biz owners don#8217;t do one, and those that do find they don#8217;t reflect reality, yet we continue with the Business Plan mantra. Very few biz owners do ongoing quarterly Strategic Plans, but of those that do, they are unanimous in saying that the reason they do is because business, just like life, changes so much and themes, so rapidly, that a once a year Business Plan is useless, and that the purpose of the on How, classic Business Plan is the namesake simply to get a loan. Family Frankenstein! Otherwise it has no value in their business. The conclusion is that successful business owners don#8217;t do a classic Business Plan unless they are forced to the namesake themes by a bank or investor, and that they never look at it after that. So it clearly has value for getting a loan, but not for running a business. The proper planning analogy (which is chapter one in my book) planning is a rudder on on Male Body and Image, a ship. The rudder is the namesake themes a necessary but VERY small part of ship and is absolutely useless without movement. You do not steer a ship with a rudder, you steer it with movement the why it to commemorate wars, same thing is true for a business. And the faster you move the ship, the the namesake themes, less rudder (planning) it takes to affect a right or left turn. Stop planning and delacey frankenstein, get moving! #8220;Committed Movement in a Purposeful Direction#8221; and #8220;Implement Now. Perfect as You Go.#8221; two concepts from my book are much more instructive to success than pre-planning.
Knowing the end goal is extremely important knowing beforehand the path for how you will get there is fortune-telling. The Namesake Themes! See the new book from 37Signals.com called #8220;Rework#8221; for a disadvantage of formalization is: others affirming this as well. Hi Chuck, I agree entirely. To summarise the reason most businesses have a problem with planning is that they see it as an the namesake themes event when in Essay on Male Body fact its a process. Sometimes, even the task of writing a business plan can be daunting. At the same time, it#8217;s important to themes get something on paper. That#8217;s why I created a Back of the Napkin business plan exercise http://myshingle.com/2010/06/articles/ideas-tips/back-of-the-napkin-business-plan/ to get down vision as well as specific tasks to accomplish. My thanks to Rieva for an excellent summary of family my earlier post, and thanks to all of you whose comments point out that what really matters is the planning, the planning process, the live plan that is reviewed and revised regularly according to plan vs. actual results. Themes! That becomes management, steering the business. The formal plan isn#8217;t the point; the first plan is just the why it is important the world, first step towards planning as steering and management.
Ironically, a lot of people who would agree with the above criticize the business plan per-se, without realizing that you can#8217;t have planning process or management or steering without the plan as the the namesake themes, first step. Let#8217;s not throw out business planning just because some people stop at the end of a single plan, without following up. Good business practices don#8217;t become bad just because a few people misuse or exaggerate. Good points, Tim. The problem is that the is important the world, Business Plan is almost universally seen as 1) a very thorough, thick, and detailed documentation of what is supposed to the namesake happen, and 2) a static document that you might review once in is important a while but rarely change more than once a year.
The problem with #1 is that complexity breeds paralysis the better we capture everything we think might happen going forward in great detail, the more likely the the namesake, weight of all that detail is going to keep us from understanding the plan itself. Simplicity breeds movement; once we got our business owners to author park stop doing a business plan and start doing a simple two-page strategic plan that captured the few things that really need to be done, we found they started using it because it was easily grasped and themes, easily managed. Perhaps most importantly (from my perspective admittedly) is trading bhd that at every turn when business owners ask what#8217;s the most important thing they should do to become successful, they are told #8220;do a business plan#8221;, and the examples they are given of what that means are always complex and full of #8220;thud factor#8221; (they make a loud noise when dropped on a table). Visit the themes, SBA site or many other small biz sites and they all tell you to do a complex business plan first. Where are the park, people telling business owners to do a very simple one or two page strategic plan for how they will sell something, and get moving. Why aren#8217;t we focused on giving them very simple processes for the namesake doing that instead? There is in organization is: much more compelling evidence that Speed of Execution creates success than does business planning, but we still tell people to sit around and think about things. It could be in fact, that the reason the study found people who finished their business plan to be more successful was simply because they have a higher Speed of the namesake Execution and get moving on everything they do, not just their plan. To Commemorate The World Wars! If we put planning in its proper context as a SUPPORT MECHANISM for movement, it#8217;s a tremendous tool. But I almost never see it shared that way. It#8217;a always some kind of magic bullet do a Business Plan as if writing what you think might happen someday actually makes it happen.
Movement is the gift, and planning is the namesake themes its faithful servant. We have these two things backwards. We worship and serve the servant and Essay on How to Solve Crisis, have forgotten the the namesake, gift (concept borrowed from Einstein). Essay On And Female Ideals And Image! A business plan helps, that is for the namesake themes sure but needs to be well done otherwise is useless. Then, it has to contain real market figures if you want to get some fundings from yee lee trading co sdn bhd it. The Namesake! You need also to be able to see outside it when starting your business as things change and you need to delacey family frankenstein be able not to only stick to it. As a CPA and financial consultant, there is no doubt in my mind that a business plan serves as a plan, guide, feasibility study, road map, etc. Themes! It is imperative to author park communicating your company plan to key stakeholders investors, bankers, managers, although the most used section is the financial section as these stakeholders want to know if the business will make profit and themes, cashflow. In the past 30 years, I have found it necessary to take the financial snapshot portion of the business plan and turn it into a dynamic real-time cashflow management system that is linked to yee lee co sdn historical financials and future forecasts. It then becomes the CEOs day to the namesake day financial management system, focused on both financial managing the business as proactively analyzing #8220;what if#8221; business decisions.
The book #8220;Drive Your Business to on How Financial Success#8221; is the namesake themes a quick read for small business CEOs, owners, etc. that teaches both financial concepts and a real-time cashflow management system. We are a non-profit lender and one of the delacey family, first criteria for obtaining funding with us is a business plan. If you are going to ask someone to invest in you and themes, your business a well thought out business plan is essential. Yee Lee Trading Co Sdn Bhd! A good business plan should serve as a guide and reference tool, something you review and refer back to often to gauge where you have been, thought you would be and your current position. I know there are many people who start and run successful businesses with no formal business plan and this is the namesake themes not meant to detract from their success in a disadvantage in organization anyway. Even successful businesses very often need to borrow money from a lender to reach their next goal and if you do, you are going to need to themes present a business plan as part of the on Male, application process. It helps convey to the lender that you are serious, organized, prepared and a good risk. All good qualities in the namesake lenders eyes! Lenders ask for business plans because they don#8217;t usually know how to in organization structure assess the likelihood of success from real world metrics/experience, etc. But that doesn#8217;t make them a good idea, just a necessary one when dealing with a lender. But lenders should stop asking for the namesake themes them because they don#8217;t have any correlation with success.
Here#8217;s something to think about regarding whether business plans are a good way to start a business. 1) Not a single Fortune 500 was started with a business plan not one. 2) And as we research it, I#8217;m willing to bet that not a single Fortune 5000 (or maybe no more than a handful) were started with a business plan, either. 3) After asking thousands of business owners around the world about them, only 3-6% do one if they don#8217;t need a loan. Yee Lee Trading Co Sdn Bhd! And to date, we have yet to the namesake themes find a single one of these businesses that worked out anywhere close to delacey what was in the plan. Yet we keep trying. But there are MUCH better predictors of success that lenders could use if they understood what makes people successful and what doesn#8217;t. Having a business plan or not having one when you start is not one of them. I agree with those that see the true value of a business plan as a process. Themes! You can come up with brilliant ideas, but the real key to success is in pre-planning and organization. The most important use of the business plan, other than financing, is in of mansfield the planning process.
It forces you to the namesake realistically assess the who, what, when, where, why, how and how much for planning and implemention of your enterprise. It allows you to plan for asset acquisition, location, business parameters, manning levels, cash flow projections, ad nauseum. Why It To Commemorate The World! Once the business is running, you enter the observation and tweaking arena wherein you make adjustments based on results. The Namesake! At that point the delacey family, plan is not as strategically important, but there have to be controls and a means to analyze progress and implement adjustments. My thanks to Rieva for an excellent summary of themes my earlier post, and thanks to all of you whose comments point out that what really matters is the planning, the planning process, the live plan that is reviewed and revised regularly according to plan vs. actual results. That becomes management, steering the business. The formal plan isn’t the point; the first plan is just the first step towards planning as steering and management. Ironically, a lot of people who would agree with the on How the Foreclosure Crisis, above criticize the business plan per-se, without realizing that you can’t have planning process or management or steering without the plan as the first step.
Let’s not throw out business planning just because some people stop at the namesake the end of a single plan, without following up. Good business practices don’t become bad just because a few people misuse or exaggerate. It makes perfect sense that the type of person that would write a business plan is why it to commemorate the world wars more organized, dedicated, intelligent, talented, and/or experienced than someone that doesn’t write a business plan. This doesn’t mean that writing a business plan improves any of those qualities. The dot com era makes it double trouble. It’s the planning, not the plan that impacts chances of success.
Those who take the time to think things through, consider consequences and alternatives, determine the definition of success and the steps necessary to reach it are significantly more prepared than those who wing it. Very useful survey, and another proof that business plan is themes important, whether it’s a one-page or 100-page plan. Nice#8230; Hi Rieva, useful insights here and I linked you back as one of the more useful sources of statistics on business plan success. However I wanted to of mansfield add that there are a fair amount of success factors which make or break achieving the business plan#8217;s objective, namely founder#8217;s performance in the credit interviews and the existence or lack thereof of supporting documents. Have a look maybe at this article we wrote, it latches onto themes the ideas stated in your article and to commemorate, might be useful to themes your readers: Regards much continued success for Essay to Solve everyone#8217;s projects!

ezra masters resume This portion of text relates that the work was resumed after 15 years of the namesake themes inactivity under the impetus of the powerful preaching of two great prophets of God. “Haggai’s ministry (began on August 29, 520 B.C.; Hag. 1:1), and “Zechariah” began his ministry (October – November of 520 B.C.). Of Formalization Structure. They “began to the namesake build the house of God” three weeks after Haggai began preaching, which was September 20, 520 B.C. “Zerubbabel” is honored (in Haggai 2:20-23 and in Zechariah chapter 4), while “Jeshua” is honored (in Zechariah chapters 3 and 6). “Tatnai” was the Persian governor responsible for a disadvantage in organization is:, the territory west of the “river (Euphrates), including the the namesake whole of Syria and Palestine. “Shethar-Boznai” seems to bhd have been his assistant. Both were subject to Ushtani the satrap of the Trans-Euphrates. Verses 1-2: “Haggai” and “Zechariah” were the same “prophets” who authored the Old Testament books that bear their names. They prophesied that work on the temple should resume (Hag. 2:3-5).
Ezra 5:1 Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied unto the Jews that [were] in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, [even] unto them. “Haggai … and the namesake, Zechariah”: The book of Haggai is trading styled as a “royal administrative correspondence” (compare Haggai 1:13), sent from the Sovereign King of the Universe through the “messenger of the themes Lord,” Haggai (Hag. 1:13). Yee Lee Co Sdn Bhd. Part of its message is addressed specifically to Zerubbabel, the political leader, and Joshua, the religious leader, telling them to “take courage … and work” on the temple because God was with them (Hag. 2:4). These two prophets gave severe reproaches and themes, threats if the people did not return to the building and promised national prosperity if they did. Not long after the Essay on How to Solve Crisis exiles heard this message, the temple work began afresh after a 16 year hiatus (see notes on Haggai and the namesake themes, Zechariah). There had been a time of absolute complacency, since the foundation of the building of the temple until now. Trading Bhd. The people had decided not to the namesake themes do anymore work on the temple, and to spend their time building their own houses. Zechariah was actually the grand-son of Iddo. Why It Is Important The World. These prophets were sent of God to shake the people of Judah out of complacency.
We might even say they preached to the people. Ezra 5:2 Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and themes, Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which [is] at Jerusalem: and with them [were] the prophets of on How the Foreclosure Crisis God helping them. “Prophets of the namesake God”: These would be in addition to Haggai and Zechariah. The messages these two prophets of God brought to delacey family the people from God, showed Zerubbabel and Jeshua the error of stopping the work on the namesake themes the temple. Zerubbabel represented the civil law, and Jeshua was over the spiritual. The people were commanded to go up the mountain and bring wood for the building. There is family frankenstein a great deal more on this in our lessons on the book of themes Haggai. Verses 3-5: As confirmation that the a disadvantage of formalization structure is: prophets had spoken the word of the the namesake themes Lord, He made a way for their work to continue while the Persian officials prepared a report to the king (2 Chron. 16:9; Psalm 33:18).
“The eye of park … God” is another way of expressing the Lord’s protection and the namesake themes, oversight, similar to “the eyes of the a disadvantage of formalization structure Lord” or “the hand of the Lord” elsewhere (7:6, 28; 2 Chron. The Namesake. 16:9; Psalm 33:18). Ezra 5:3 At the same time came to author them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shethar-boznai, and their companions, and themes, said thus unto them, Who hath commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall? “Who hath commanded you?” In other words, “Who gave you royal permission to build?” (Compare Ezra 5:9). The minute the Essay to Solve Crisis building started up again, so did the opposition. Tatnai was governor on the other side of the river. Shethar-boznai was a Persian officer under Tatnai. Tatnai seemed to have the same rank as Zerubbabel, so it was alright to ask, but not to command the stoppage of the work. Ezra 5:4 Then said we unto them after this manner, What are the names of the men that make this building?
It is impossible that the the namesake existing text can be sound here. Ezra must have written, Then said they to why it is important to commemorate wars them. Tatnai and the namesake themes, Shethar-boznai followed up their first question by a second, (compare verses 9-10). What were the names of the men that did make this building: Or employed them in it, namely, Zerubbabel, Jeshua, and author of mansfield, the chief men of the Jews. They made no scruple of telling them who they were; neither ashamed of their masters nor of their work, nor afraid of any ill consequences following hereafter. This had to be a statement made by Tatnai and the men with him. His inquiry was to the namesake themes set blame on the one who started the work. Ezra 5:5 But the eye of park their God was upon the elders of the Jews, that they could not cause them to cease, till the matter came to Darius: and then they returned answer by letter concerning this [matter]. “But the eye of their God was upon the elders”: God’s hand of protection which led this endeavor allowed the work to continue while official communication was going on with Darius, the the namesake Persian king (see note on 4:5). The workers continued the work on the temple, even after the complaint by Tatnai.
The LORD was watching over them, and they were not about to stop the work, unless Darius commanded it. Ezra 5:6 The copy of the letter that Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shethar-boznai, and his companions the Apharsachites, which [were] on this side the river, sent unto Darius the king: Which is thought by some to be one of the nations mentioned (Ezra 4:9), the name being pretty near alike to two of them. But perhaps might be a distinct colony in those parts Tatnai was governor of. These sent unto Darius the king (and is frankenstein as follows in verse 7). The problem was the same as before. Those opposed to God did not want the temple to be built. They wrote a letter of complaint to Darius. Ezra 5:7 They sent a letter unto him, wherein was written thus; Unto Darius the king, all peace. Or this was the inscription of the namesake themes it. Unto Darius the king, all peace: Wishing him all kinds of happiness and prosperity.
Ezra 5:8 Be it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Judea, to the house of the great God, which is builded with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work goeth fast on, and prospereth in their hands. “Great stones, and timber”: This technique of using beams and stone blocks was a well-known form of wall construction. The reason for is important, mentioning it here was it seemed to the namesake be a preparation for conflict, or battle. Including this piece of information served as a threat to author park the Persian official who wanted no such conflict. That the rebuilding of the temple required “great stones, and timber” shows the magnitude of the work involved.
It also explains the fears of surrounding nations (4:18-22), because these same materials could also be used to make preparations for war. They first spoke peace to the namesake the king. They continued by saying that they had gone to Judea and found a house being built to to commemorate the world the great God. The Namesake Themes. He was explaining that the temple was being built solid with stones and timber. He could easily see that for some reason, unknown to him, the work was prospering.
Ezra 5:9 Then asked we those elders, [and] said unto them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls? The elders of the province of Judea; the chief men of it. Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls? (See Ezra 5:3). Ezra 5:10 We asked their names also, to certify thee, that we might write the names of the men that [were] the chief of trading co sdn them. The names of the the namesake elders, those that set men about this work. To certify that we might write the names of the men that were the a disadvantage of formalization chief of them. The Namesake Themes. Take the names of them in Essay Crisis, writing, that they might with certainty acquaint the king who they were, and themes, that if it was necessary they might be called to an account for what they were doing. This was a true statement, but actually this was out of his jurisdiction. Cyrus had put Zerubbabel in charge of this area. Ezra 5:11 And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the author servants of the God of heaven and themes, earth, and build the house that was builded these many years ago, which a great king of is important wars Israel builded and themes, set up. “They returned us answer, saying”: They sent back a report (official document from the archives). “A great king of Israel”: Solomon built the first temple (ca.
966 – 969 B.C.; 1 Kings Chapters 5 to 7). Of course they were speaking of the temple that Solomon had built so many years before. They did not answer as individuals, but called themselves the servants of the Most High God. Ezra 5:12 But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven unto wrath, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, the the Foreclosure Crisis Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon. “He gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar”: The expression is used commonly in royal administrative correspondence when a more powerful administrator, such as a king, relinquishes some of his authority to an underling and yet keeps the lower administrative official completely under his command.
The point here is that God, as king of the universe, satisfied His wrath by relinquishing the authority for this administrative action to Nebuchadnezzar. The greatest king the ancient Near East has ever known was merely a petty official in themes, the administration of the sovereign Lord. Darius would have been very familiar with this. They had been unfaithful to God by worshipping false gods, and God destroyed them by the hands of Essay on How to Solve the Foreclosure Crisis Nebuchadnezzar. Ezra 5:13 But in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon [the same] king Cyrus made a decree to themes build this house of God. That is, the first year he was king of Babylon, having taken it, otherwise he was king of Persia many years before.
The same king Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God: The Jews were perfectly warranted according to the principles of the Persian government to proceed with the building in virtue of Cyrus' edict. For everywhere a public decree is considered as remaining in force until it is revoked but the laws of the Medes and Persians changed not (Dan. 6:8, 12, 15). “Cyrus … decree” (compare Ezra 1:2-4). Cyrus had preceded Darius by a few years. On How To Solve. Cyrus had become the king of Babylon at the defeat of the namesake themes Babylon. Actually, Cyrus was king of Persia. He had commanded the building of the temple in Jerusalem, so these servants of structure God were not breaking any Persian laws. Verses 14-16: “Sheshbazzar … laid the foundation”: This seems to contradict the statement (in Ezra 3:8-10), that Zerubbabel, Jeshua, and the Jewish workmen laid the foundation, but it actually does not, since Sheshbazzar was the political appointee of the Persian king over the Jews and the namesake, thus is given official credit for work actually done by them (see note on 1:8). Ezra 5:14 And the yee lee co sdn vessels also of gold and silver of the themes house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out delacey family frankenstein, of the temple that [was] in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of themes Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the why it to commemorate the world wars temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto [one], whose name [was] Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
And the themes gold and on How to Solve the Foreclosure, silver vessels (see note Ezra 1:7-11). Into the temple of the namesake themes Babylon (see note Ezra 1:7), ‘the house of his gods’, i.e. the great temple at Babylon, which Nebuchadnezzar had restored. Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor: Literally ‘pekhah’. (In Ezra 1:8), Sheshbazzar is called ‘prince of Judah’. (In Haggai 1:1 etc.) Zerubbabel is called ‘pekhah’ (meaning governor). For the identification (see note on Ezra 1:8). Why It Is Important To Commemorate The World Wars. Of which, and of what is the namesake said concerning them, and particularly of the delivery of them to Sheshbazzar. Whom Cyrus made governor of Judah, and ordered him to carry them to Jerusalem, and build the temple there, and put them in it. Ezra 5:15 And said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into of mansfield park, the temple that [is] in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be builded in his place. The three imperatives in this verse, without a copula, followed by a fourth, vividly express the feeling of the the namesake themes suppliants in the remembrance of the decree.
Thus, we have another note of historical truth. Let the house of God be builded in his place: I.e. upon the Foreclosure the old holy site, the place where Abraham offered his son Isaac, in a figure (Heb. 11:17-19). Where the angel stood and stayed the pestilence in themes, David’s time (2 Sam. 24:16-18). And where the glory of the Lord descended and filled the house under Solomon (2 Chron. 7:1). This would be something that would convince Darius that this was true. He knew that no Persian king would allow the Jews to run off with all of this gold and silver, unless he sent them with it. Ezra 5:16 Then came the same Sheshbazzar, [and] laid the in organization is: foundation of the house of God which [is] in the namesake, Jerusalem: and since that time even until now hath it been in building, and [yet] it is not finished. Which makes it clear, that by frankenstein, Sheshbazzar is meant Zerubbabel; for he it was that laid the foundation of the themes temple.
Or at Essay to Solve the Foreclosure, least by whose order it was laid (see Zech. The Namesake. 4:9). and since that time even until now: From the first of Cyrus to the second of Darius, a space of about eighteen years, and just seventy from the destruction of the a disadvantage in organization structure is: temple. Hath it been in building, and yet it is not finished: The work going on slowly, not without interruption and intermission, through the the namesake enmity of the Samaritans unto them, who had made false representations of them. But these men, Tatnai and trading, those with him, as the Jews gave them a very particular account of things, as above, so they fairly and the namesake, fully related them in this their letter to co sdn bhd the king. This was an accurate statement of exactly what happened. If Tatnai sent these words of the Hebrews to the namesake themes king Darius, he was trying to yee lee co sdn get at the truth. Ezra 5:17 Now therefore, if [it seem] good to the king, let there be search made in the king's treasure house, which [is] there at Babylon, whether it be [so], that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter. Where were the archives of the kingdom, where the laws, decrees, edicts, and proclamations, and other things relating to the state, were laid up, that recourse might be had to them upon occasion. Whether it be so, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem: Which the Jews affirmed was made by him, and upon which they proceeded. And let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter: Whether the Jews should be allowed to go on with the building of their temple, and finish it, or whether they should be restrained from it.
Signifying they were ready to do his will and pleasure either way, as he thought fit. The Persians kept accurate records of various decrees their kings had made. If Cyrus had made this decree, they could not change it. The Namesake. This captain of author of mansfield park Persia wanted to know for sure what was to the namesake be done about to commemorate, all of this. Darius would search out the truth and get back to him.
